Any Longmire fans here?
Pretty wild season ender. On a number of points, not least the ending of course. One thing that bothered me was the way they disinterred the body of Miller Beck. Seems like w/o the proper chain of custody they could be open to charges of tampering. Of course there's a lot I don't know.

Watched first season on Netflix. Stayed in a hotel on the town square in Las Vegas NM, which is where it is filmed. Sheriff's office door can be seen there.

Las Vegas NM?! Say it ain't so.
I grew up in NM. Some rugged mountains in those parts. Certainly not unlike those in Wyoming.

As a writer I like the fact that the story carries the show and not a lot of high dollar FX.
Anyone who enjoys a good puzzle enjoys this type of program, and they are cheap to produce as well. Cheap does not always mean bad and when programmers are looking at what to buy for a season it is the same as any other business: What does the product cost and what can I sell it for? Low production costs with quality scripts and acting can lead to long production runs; something every Producer wishes they could pull off. |

I like it a lot. Recognized the plaza of LV, NM right off, who cares? Great show. Haven't watched the season ender yet.

I just watched one of the episodes today on On Demand. I didn't really get a good idea too much, but it seemed good. Good enough I want to watch it again. Summer TV really is never good, so a new show will keep me busy at night.

Watch the first season to catch up on the ongoing story/s.

^ Yup. There aren't that many episodes in existence, maybe 24 (3 seasons). I told one of my clients about "Vikings" on HC and she started at the beginning of season 1 and watched 5 in one night (!?). This at the beginning of the second season, she caught up to the present episode by the end of it.
Longmire is often good, a few times they've almost flirted with a shark jumping I thought but they seemed to survive it. Some of the plots are just way out there but oh well, it is fiction. I won't say anymore about the details of the season ender than I've already mentioned in the OP but this one, while good, did bug me a bit. Too far away from what would fly in the real world. I suspect their disinterring of the body w/o a warrant and other participation would ruin the evidence they uncovered. The last scene in that one really gets close to shark jumping IMO. Just too implausible. Does make for a good cliff-hanger though.

Rectify on Sundance is intense. But you have to see the first episode for context.

I watch more episodes today. But it was the current season on OnDemand. They charge $2.99 per episode to watch the first and second season. Insane, right?
I wonder if they offer the seasons online that won't give me malware. I doubt A&E offers the repeats for free on their site. |
