Sleazy insurance company

That's redundant

Calif. insurer pays off lawsuit with thousands in coins

LOS ANGELES (AP) — An insurance company settled a lawsuit with a Los Angeles man by dropping off buckets full of thousands of quarters, nickels, dimes and pennies, his attorney said Wednesday.

Andres Carrasco, 76, filed a lawsuit in 2012 against Adriana's Insurance Services, a Rancho Cucamonga-based company.

The East Los Angeles man alleged that during an argument over why the company had cancelled his auto insurance, an agent assaulted him by physically removing him from the office.

Insurance companies are always scumbags. Yet, we rely on them.

Sometimes we don't have a choice but to rely on them.

74 days for the structural adjuster to come up with his first lowball estimate.

That's the nature of their business model. There's absolutely no advantage to the ins co in parting with their money. Stalling is making them more money.

Doesn't make it any less frustrating for Swamp, though, and certainly doesn't justify it ethically.

Health insurapigs somehow didn't process my payment last week, and now have the nerve to charge me a $2.50 fee for a "non-completed payment," even though they have no clear reason why the payment didn't complete.

Where exactly does it say what went down during the argument? From reading the article, I see that he had his insurance cancelled, went to the office to dispute it, something happened and he got physically removed from the office. What I don't know is what exactly happened. Without that, how do we know what went down in the office? Having worked in retail, I KNOW for a fact that there are a lot of disgruntled customers who do strange things. So, if that happened, it might explain why they got sore at having to pay out to some jerk.

We had a customer that demanded a refund for an item that was OBVIOUSLY used. Also had a customer that demanded a warranty on an item that he bought from the store that was in that location. Only problem is it was a different company that went out of business.

There is an issue of ethics and an issue of business. If the two happen to meet, it is a financially advantageous situation that they can spin. Business is business. Ethics is ethics. If even the RC church won't do the ethical thing and just go the legal route, what is it you expect from an enterprise?

You are cared for because it is advantageous in some way, shape or form. You are a fool to believe otherwise. I take the time to do my homework right simply because I prefer to spend 3 hours doing it and not 1 hour doing it and 2 hours doing it again and 2 more later on or get a bad grade. Get real, we are all paid. The only question is in what coin.

There were no specifics beyond what was posted that would have answered many Qs - because there weren't any to post.

You don't even know why it didn't process and you call them pigs? Oh, that's right. They didn't kiss your ass. My bad.

Just today, I used my business debit card for the first time ever and it was declined. I knew I was right and there was sufficient balance so it was obviously their fault. Come to find out, I linked the card to the wrong account according to the paperwork I wrote out. Sometimes it is my fault, sometimes their fault. Till I find out exactly why, I'd rather not say it is their fault. You, OTOH are perfect so it has to be their fault.

The RC Church and business are in it for the money. That's how it works. Nothing unlawful in stalling to write a check. I'm good with that.

Or maybe it wasn't juicy enough to warrant a newspaper sale? Remember the oil company "Record Profits"? Most of the people I asked who said that about how much was spent to make the profit didn't know the answer much less the percentage profit. All they knew was $X billion profit.

That's my point. If I don't have to pay you before the 21st legally, why should I?As long as they don't violate the law, play ball. If they do, well....
