What 2000 Looked Like in 1981

I prefer our 2000.

I've seen worse.

Really though, I can see bits and pieces of R129 and C140/W140 in there... Both of which ran until 2002 (R129) and 1999 (C/W140).

For 1981 is pretty revolutionary. It looks like an oversized cross breed between a Renault 25 and a Citroen BX with a sniff of Mercedes.

Especially since no one commented about a twin turbo diesel, or a turbine engine. :D

Given the small opening windows in the front doors; the absolute inability to roll down the rear windows, and that huge contoured glass hatch, one best keep the A/C in good working order at all times.

You can always leave the hatch open. You would be surprised about how many European models of that time don't even have arco (as they call it in Europe).

It looks a Lincoln on side view, but hopefully it didn't drive like a water bed like a true Lincoln does.

I'd probably drive it, can't imagine many people buying one looking like it. Looks like enough room to have a lot of great sex in that back seat.

What would have been better with the hood going open that way, can't really think of a benefit?

Scares away the sharks.

Cylinder deactivation, twin turbo I6, and the hump back are all around today.

I'm glad I don't have to pay for the hatch when i gets broken by someone doing a " smash and grab" for a small briefcase with nothing in it...
