I just received word that one of our members that is down on his life situation needs a new roof because his is leaking.

Not sure if this is even allowed here, but it's for one of our own.

I'm putting up the first $100.00 to send to the member.

What I'd like to do is have someone here everyone trusts and is trustworthy himself in then getting the money to him.

He doesn't know I'm doing this, but a mutual friend sent me an email is how I found out about his need. I'm thinking maybe a couple grand at least. Not a real big house as I recall.

Who's with me?

if this is true, you need to do a lot better job of making it sound less like a craigslist or email scam.

right now, the only thing missing is the nigerian prince

you can set up a donation website, ect that would make this much more legit seeming to the rest of us

Agreed, plus it would probably be good for this anonymous member to be identified :).

I'm in. Depending on who it's for. :P ;) (j/k!)

Someone just needs to set up a gofundme account (or similar). A friend set one up in our honor after our fire. Can donate via PayPal or CC I believe.

Did I ever mention how financially strapped I am?

Exactly! Strapped from paying for all the repairs on all the fleet!

Besides the burden of maintaining the benz, I have kids in college.

According to this :

Cost of raising a child in U.S. tops $245,000, USDA says | Reuters

I am already about half a mil behind the 8 ball before I have a penny for myself :(

Damn the rain anyway. :D

I'll say it again. There has to be some penalty for sex. ;)

Sure seems like excessive punishment for a few minutes of pleasure.

A few minutes?

Awww, gee Skid... I may be in. :) I've actually helped people a few times on here.

Towed guys home when their engines let go, gave away spare sets of wheels (BBS, Ronal, AMGs, etc), gave away extra car stereo parts, euro lights, and even bought parts for some guys who were down on luck! (this actually happened recently, bought an alternator for a gent with a W124 who had just started a new job).

Hell, I've loaned some guys here cash to buy cars!
