what a **** week.

I lost my mom last thursday. I was in yuma for work and had just gotten to the job site when my dad called. best we can tell so far, she had a heart attack. it will be up to 6 weeks before we get the final cause. My dad found her in her recliner when he got up for work.

Really makes me reevaluate what things in life are a priority. She was the best mother anyone could as for, and an even better grandmother to my children. My 4 year old was absolutely crazy about her. Thankfully he doesnt fully understand.

My dad is absolutely beside himself. They were married 27 years.

Oh crap sorry to hear about that - please accept my best wishes

It's way tougher than you would have thought, was for me anyway, when my father passed in 2000.

Good luck, hang in there.

Damn, man. Very sorry to hear that. :( Our thoughts, prayers and condolences are with you and your family.

I can very much relate to what you're going through. My mom died unexpectedly a few years ago despite being very active and health conscious at 66. My parents were married for 43 years. My kids adored her and she was always there for them. I had very serious concerns about how my father would deal with it on top of transitioning into full retirement. Being there for your dad and keeping him active is very important right now.

Please feel free to PM anytime!

Losing a parent is tough, especially when it's unexpected. My condolences.

Sorry for your loss. It’s a real challenge to lose a mom. It can tear a hole in your life.

Spend time with your kids and dad and all other family members. Encourage everyone to share stories as that helps with the usually very slow recovery process.

Both my parents are gone. Mom was the last in 2003. My condolences.

My sincere condolences to you and your family. I hope you can take a small measure of comfort knowing she likely did not suffer.
Cancer took my mother. Her last day was not pretty. A lasting memory I could live without.:(:(

I'm very sorry for your loss. Lost my mom in Feb and my dad 4 years earlier.

Sorry to hear of this. We only get one mother.

Women do experience severe heart attacks with absolutely no previous symptoms. For example my wife was totally well when she started to walk between the coffee table and me on the couch. Half way along it she fell on me with no ability to use her limbs.

Fortunately she recovered but it was very close.

Please add my condolences as well. It's never easy, even when you can prepare. My aunt passed away the day before your mom; she'd been afflicted with senility and alzheimer's for several years (completely unable to speak for more than two), and my cousin (one of her sons) has been her round-the-clock caregiver for about three years. Even with all of that backdrop, he's still devastated.

May you all draw even closer together because of the wonderful mom you had.
