Leave that Craigslist ad up for a couple paydays

Craigslist common sense I guess. I was wondering if anyone was ever going to call and was ready to take an offer. Then payday for the boys came along and the phone was ringing off of the hook. I am thinking that craigslist ads should run through half a month including the last, first and 15th. That should hit a couple paydays for most and one payday for almost everyone.

Most everything goes in cycles.

When do the welfare checks and tax refunds and social security dollars come in?

Wal-Mart is always packed around the first of the month. At least the ones in Texas are.

I once asked a checker why this was and she told me the cards were charged on the first so everyone had money to spend. The 'cards' in question is the way Texas handles what were once called food stamps.

Social Security is usually paid during the week of your birthday. If your birthday is on the 5th of May then your SS payment will come each month during the week with the fifth day in it. At least that's one way. There may be others.

You guys are exactly right. There are many, many people in this country who never knew a world without Walmart. Many who never knew a world without welfare checks. They were trained to a way of life and if you want to market to them you have to communicate in terms that they understand. Transactions with Walmart people, what a world.

I have seen mention that everyone who works in retail knows exactly when checks come out and the retail world cycles around those times. Want to sell to that crowd? Line up behind the experts and grab for crumbs. Grab and growl.

Turns out that the ad needs to run long enough for the people who work out of town to get back to town. Just sold one to a guy who works offshore. Truck drivers would be another example.

Don't give up too quick. Their payday can be your payday too.

That's about right, but the month is split in thirds. 1-10, 11-20, 21-31 and regular SS benefits deposited on the second, third and fourth Wednesdays. During the first week of the month payments are for SSI or pre-97 combined SSI & SS payments....or something like that.

I was thinking of putting my 75 Z1B up on CL. Do they attract much foreign interest? Never sold anything online before. Bought some ebay things in the past, including the Z beast but never tried selling.

Until the "thing" is sold, why would anyone take a free Craigslist listing down?

I don't know about foreign interest but that bike would sell. My price guide shows more money for a 74 model but condition rules over the guides. Original pipes, paint and seat mean more money.

Z1 tried to kill me one time too.
