That makes sense, the quick and easy way to change the water capacity. I never would've thought it would happen, but I've become a toilet snob. I regularly hold forth to clients about the toilet that they really ought to pay me to install.

I'm a big fan of the Toto 1.28 gallon models. The most elaborate arrangement I've yet installed was a $500 one piece unit with an added Toto wash-u-let seat, IIRC the seven or $800 model. Damn thing had a remote control unit.

I could imagine kids having it outside the bathroom when a friend goes in and hit the right buttons to start squirting water up their butt.

Toto uses a different sort of fill valve then the common Fluidmaster. Not sure which I like better at this point.

I thought about this as well. The water velocity might be a little more effective as it drops from a higher elevation. Then again unless there where a funnel under the tray there would be too much turbulance to enable this.

Sometimes I add some half bricks to reduce internal tank volume as this tends to retain the head of water height. Adjusting the float level turnoff lowers the general level. Gravity is free and benificial to work with so why reduce it by lowering the tank level?

I want someone to combine a garbage disposal and a toilet. Imagine it now....

This idea is a winner. It combines entertainment with primal urges. Home wastewater treatment could be the next big boom. Move aside internet, make way for the new kid on the block. (note: You should patent this before Al Gore claims it.) If the pet rock can make it, why not?

Imagine all the YouTube videos that would come from it.

WILL IT FLUSH?!

Thousands of people flushing perfectly good items down the invincible toilet.
That's how we drive consumer purchasing!

You're too late. It's been done. BIL had one in the basement. Plastic tank behind the toilet contained grinder and a pump. Toilet drained horizontally into the tank, not out the bottom. Pumped up the end result to the sewer line. Sink and shower drained into the tank also. Simpler than the typical sump pit. I had to repair it once when I was visiting. BIL had worked on it and hadn't secured the top. Grinding was flinging stuff out the tank and on to the bathroom floor.

No no no close but not quite!

I want the grinding bits to be at the bottom of the toilet bowl in the outlet port thing! That way they grind up any potential clogs!

My first RV, a Winnebago, way back when, came with all of the original documentation. Optional equipment included a macerator waste system and a wastewater incinerator. Best I remember it ground up the waste and burned it on the exhaust pipes. I think it was a mid 70's model, my last Winnebago and last flat roof.
