When I returned to California Monday the entire sky at the summit of the Sierra Nevada was dark with smoke.
When we went to break at work in Minden earlier today we could see something blowing over the mountains and were speculating as to whether we were seeing regular clouds or smoke. At the time I thought "cloud". Now I'm thinking "smoke".

The larger of the two fires is still raging and over 2500 acres and dozens of homes have been lost; The smaller of the two fires is less then 5 miles from me, but is getting under control. CDF (Ca. Dept of Forestry) fire trucks were on the highways all day long, today, I saw them personally.

A big storm would be a godsend at this point for all of Northern California.
Yep.
