Quits . . . hah! The word has been circling for over a week that he was being sacked, in part for the lack of podiums in F1 over the past seasons. It was easy to win when Schumi was driving it seems, like having Michael Jordan on the court.

Lead, follow, or get out of the way. In Marchionne's quest to whore out the Ferrari badge to increase sales volume, we can only hope to see a badge-engineered Dodge Dart bring the Ferrari horse to everyman's stable. As a marketing link to the Ferrari California, which is their current sales leader, and probably the model most familiar to non-enthusiasts, I wouldn't be surprised to see the new car also named after a U.S. state: Ferrari Wisconsin? Ferrari Alabama? Ferrari Massachusetts? My eyes water in anticipation.

No, he has Alfas and Maseratis for the "sub-supercar" market in the US.

P.S.: In case the scenario above seems too ridiculous to be plausible, please say hello to the 2013 Lancia Flavia convertible, sold under a Fiat-controlled brand that was once synonymous with technically sophisticated, elegantly-tailored driver's cars:

Look familiar?

Joe Six-Pack never heard of a Maserati, and isn't Alfalfa some sort of a plant?

Joe Six Pack would be a hard sell for anything "eyetalian." However, if a turbocharged V6 or V8 that had some racing heritage found its way into a Chrysler special edition type vehicle, there could be a market.

I don't know what happened but in the last month Los Angeles got floated with Maserati's. Around the West Side, Beverly Hills and Hollywood you see them almost on every corner.

Besides the FF I haven't seen an interesting Ferrari in years.

The new Ghibli and Quattroporte has hit the showrooms! Leases start at $550 and $900, respectively.
