Was it for Saturday the day after the request, or a week later?

You laminated semitransparent vinyl.
or
You found a local craft place selling it
or
You cut it from a close color, and painted the vinyl
or
You convinced them to use a different color

Customer is color blind and doesn't know that you gave him the wrong color.

You may have done a 100% ink coverage in what ever PMS ink color they requested as the background color, and then applied their graphics over that.

An old story - When it was time to go forward with the technically-challenging paint job for the Mako Shark, the GM 60's show car, chief stylist Bill Mitchell decreed that the colors had to match the stuffed shark mounted on the wall of his office. The painters painted the car several times, with Mitchell declining to accept their work each time, claiming that the car colors did not match the shark's iridescent hues. Finally, out of deviousness/desperation, the painters broke into Mitchell's office, stole the shark, repainted it, and placed it back on the wall. A few days later Mitchell approved the car's paint job, as it now matched the shark's colors perfectly...

You were able to go back in time, via the use of your Mercury Mountaineer time machine.

Order vinyl so you would have it in stock, then return to present date to say "SURPRISE" and pull out the correct vinyl?!??!!!!

WHAT DID I WIN!????

I'm thinking there is a CLKman stool joke embedded in this process, somewhere.

Gotta give this one to Simpler=Better , the color the customer wanter was white on red plastic
so I went to wally world and bought vinyl shelf liner which happens to be the almost identical to my sign vinyl. I still use it if I get in a pinch and need white vinyl.
