I've finally done it!!

Hi,

I'm sure a lot of you will be aware of my lifetime dream and ambition to be able to do a bit of travelling in America.

Well, I'm on my way!

I have had to sell the benz to fund the trip , but I'm sure it will be worth it!

I fly out to New York next Tuesday. I am staying in a small hotel in the Village for a week, and then I am going to see where life takes me.

I really want to see as much as possible, but my budget is limited.

Any ideas appreciated, and I hope to meet up with some of you. I'm definately going to MB Autowerks!!!!!!

Thanks

My tips

When in NYC, get on the Staten Island Ferry and make a round trip. It is a better tour than the $$$$ tour boats and less than $10.

Practice for the Indianapolis 500 begins on May 5th. Check out the site for a full schedule, Also, if you go, the Speedway Museum is a must see, about $2.

Good luck and have fun.

Howdy Oliver,
Are you taking a computer with you so you can keep us informed as to where you are heading so we might get a chance to meet you?¿

Yeah, keep us updated on your travels, if you can! Maybe some of us can get together with you, or offer some hospitality, if you're in our area! Let me know when you're coming to MB Autowerks...I'm in Atlanta and I've been looking for an excuse to drive up there and see them!

Enjoy and be safe!
Mike

Thanks again everyone. I won't be bringing a computer, but I'm sure I'll be able to find one of those internet cafes or something. I can always phone home and get someone to post for me.

I hope to meet as many of you as possible!

Also, I haven't travelled to the USA since september 11th. Is there anything I need to know about travel etiquette, and things not to do etc while entering the country? I really want the whole trip to go as smooth as possible.
I'm sure a young man, that's alone with a backpack entering New York might arouse some suspision.

Thanks

Yep, don't even JOKE about terrorism or bombs or anything remotely close while you're at the airport. To make sure the airport screeners don't take stuff away from you try to check just about everything sharp. This includes your razor, your cigar cutter, your penknife, etc.

Most public libraries have internet access and it's free to use the computers there. I'd be glad to show you around Minneapolis if you ever make it here, it'll take about half a day

When you get to southern California, let us know and we can set up some fun sites to see, grab some authentic Mexican food, Hoist a few Negra Modelos, etc.

Howdy Oliver,
One thing you don't want to do . When you are on the airplane and you see someone you know by the name of John, Don't yell Hi Jack.

Kuan:

thanks! If I'm around that area, I'll be sure to send you a message, and thanx for the tips

Bear: I have been told by the police that I am going to court soon, but I can't be bothered to wait around for them to give me a date. I'll see them when I get back

JCE: I'll be sure to contact you. Thanks for the offer, I should be heading that way after NY

Frank: Great tip, thanks!!!!
