Super 8 to digital After my brother died, I got possession of about 12 rolls of Super8 film of family events from the 1960s and 70s. Super 8 projectors are about as scarce as hen's teeth, so I really can't preview them. I will probably ship them off and have them converted to digital. Some companies that do this cannot return the digital copies in a format that can be edited to add titles and dates. I wonder if others offer this, and at what cost. Anyone with experience in this stuff? |

From 2009 using a scanner. ( Also look at the flip book near the end of page.) Flatbed Scanner Digital Telecine (FSDT) Project Super 8 projectors are a Craigslist / 2nd hand shop thing. I'd depower the lamp to reduce film damage then set up a digital vid camera against the projector. Some more advanced stuff 8mm and Super 8 Conversion To Digital moviestuff entry page |
