S550 coupe

Wow, that car is gorgeous, by far the most beautiful car in Mercedes line up, pictures don't do it justice.

I like them.except for the front. Most oF the MB models have those sharp lines the do not seem to go with the flowing curves of the rest of the car.

The front is maybe a little to high, because of the laws in Europe to protect pedestrians. I saw three of them today and I'm blown away.

I saw one up at the one dealership. Quite a nice looking car. The price tag, of course, was up there.

The side profile is gorgeous. Those interior accent lights are nice too actually.

Some pics I took:

And just think. Ten years from now you will be able to buy a good used one for under $20k.

Then some kid while texting and (not) driving caves in the trunk with his $1200 corolla doing $19000 dollars of damage to the MB. Diminished value? Priceless.

I hate the dash boards on the new S, the LCD screens look cheap. Audi has a much nicer interior right now.

Or some idiot in a 1995 Ford Explorer parks 6in from you and creams your door with his...than drives away.

I don't think I'll ever own a nice car again, I'd much rather spend the $140k on a ski house or a better boat, both hold their value better.

OTOH most of these cars are leased for a couple grand a month and thrown away for just that reason. Who cares its MB financials car...

I generally do not like cars that cost so much, nor do I like large cars with (only) 2 doors...

But that car looks nice.

Not sure what I think about the HMI dashboard (I work with those often at work....and we never have just one in a control room...good on MB for including 2....both are they both fully redundant ?)

It's true about door dingers and rear enders. In our ever more self-serving society people don't give a da** about your Mercedes S550. As a matter of fact, I'm convinced because an S550 IS a nice car, they go out of their way to ding it, key it, scratch it, whatever they can do to ruin your day. As Hatterasguy said, it doesn't pay to drive a nice set of wheels anymore. Buy a $2000 clunker and be done with it. I used to have a Dodge Aspen station wagon and I never worried about it getting stolen.......

In car heaven where I live, people respect new and nice cars. I'm driving a brand new 2015 Suburban at the moment, getting complemented all the time.

Not crazy about it. Looks like a stretched Audi A5 which is growing old in the tooth itself.
