"elmiraj"

It's a mirage. You think you see it but you really don't.

How appropriate.

I don't get what they would be gaining. GM right now is concentrating on maturing the C7 and producing a full model line up. Its already a $100k car that can run with $300k-$500k cars.

They have fully tapped that chassis its been said over and over, there is no more wringing any more handling capabilities out of it--as lutz said in an article -again last month on the back page of automobile mag.

That new Ford GT will have a 3.5 L V6 EcoBoost twin-turbo that makes 600+ HP. Holy cow! That's almost as much as the Hellcat!

I disagree I don't think the C7 is maxed out, they don't even have a full model line up as of yet. Even if it was and they were building a C8 their is no reason they could not build a faster car with the standard front engine layout of the Corvette.

GM doesn't want to make the Corvette a $200k mid engine super car, that's not the point.

GM's to busy returning to profitability to make a money losing halo car, maybe, maybe I can see Cadillac doing it but that's a stretch.

OK hat, i have been reading details about this for loooong time.
the current car is basically still a 1997, about the only magor changes are some bigger wider wheels and bigger rotors, the frame rails are now aluminum -and 1" longer--and that allowed them to set the engine back 1", the suspension cast pieces are lighte hollow cast pieces in some parts.

anyone believing the "its totally new" is a dweeb.

they have been "developing the new chassis" since the middle of the last decade ..................................................... of the 20th century.

this second link ---looks like rather than dragging out the Cien mule, They rang up Steve Mosler and got an old consueler mule to use.
that was his first mid engine toy.

he has Loong had his idea of what the mid engine Corvette should be, the current MT900R gt3 has been around for decades now, he likes the Porsche transaxle with the SBC

The old consueler --from the 1970's and 80's a internet search wont turn up anything. it was a goofy looking thing that a elementary school kid might draw pictures of.

the last time it was seen,, Toyota rented it out and called it a Tacoma trd for the pikes peak rally for 1998, it could have been sold off to rod millen who's name was on it then-- or this guy just did a blatant copy of the consuler
