gradualism....they have refined the vette and refined it and it just keeps getting more competant and the buyer likes a big rorty front engine car so they keep building them.

The new one looks like a fighter plane.

Irrelevant. There's plenty of midengine heaps on the market already. Nobody cares about more of the same. The Corvette has an established formula and market. Deviate from it to become more of the same and die.

A midengine vette is the answer to the question nobody asked.

the reports are the new MI -wont offer a manual tranz, thats a thumbs down imo, Ferrari says they are ceasing manuals- says they don't work good.................. im calling BS they have been building sports cars since 46~ and still cant get them to work .

the C6 vette was one of the best looking, I don't think I will ever accept the razor edge lines of the current car.

Sent from an abacus
The cien was done in 2002.
Anyone who thinks its circa 2002 though--ide have to argue with them, it was far ahead of its time.

Especially in styling.

That thing sitting on a dealership right now would look even more edgy than the all the other current caddie's

GM doesn't want to make the Corvette a $200k mid engine super car, that's not the point.

GM's to busy returning to profitability to make a money losing halo car, maybe, maybe I can see Cadillac doing it but that's a stretch.

The current vette is scheduled to end in 2018 ..... same time the new mid engine car appears at 3 times the price at least,

So this could easily go wrong for GM and be the end by the early 2020's, too little response to their high end plans for its future.

it could be a true contender with the other now contemporary mid engine cars, but will cheapskate americans stand for a -(at minimum) $120.000 base price vette ?

That sucks, now its no different than every other mid engine car on the market for what $150k-$200k?

Yawn.

I figured they were going to follow the 911 and keep with the basic formula.
