Sounds like it's going to be a 300-325hp AWD 4 cylinder that's going to take on the STi!

Anyone else excited?

That sounds awesome although I would never buy a new car. I could build a hell of a car for the money they get for the new ones.

pish . . . Cosworth and Mercedes had a normally aspirated 4 cylinder engine that could generate those number for rallying . . . in 1984.

Friend of mine has a focus st, which competes with the GTI. The rs will compete with the golf r nicely, I would guess that's their pricing comparison. The ST is incredible for a fwd car, I can only imagine the RS

if Mercedes weren't rightly afraid of the Audi Quattro at the time, it likely would have. But, let's not forget that the Pinto and the Ford Explorer had warranties too, but so what? ;)

I've read it both ways, but both previous RS's threatened to be AWD, then showed up FWD. So I'd lean in your direction.
