I guess if the gun doesn't work you can try the axe.

Nice, very nice.

I doubt they were used much the 37MM anti tank gun would have been obsolete in 1939.

It would be a fantastic way to piss of a Panther!

More like a quick way to get your self killed.
Still. Would be nice to show up to work in one day. If only I had about a hundred grand lying around...

wonder what it would sell for in Syria or Libya? Put a Toyota under it and it would fit right in.

You do not need a hundred grand. The ad says $885.00/month.

80 grand is the asking price. I doubt you'll get a loan for that even if you could afford the monthly payment. This is a very rich persons toy unfortunately.

A guy I know just retired and moved to Las Vegas with his.

He is a retired E-9 from the Air Force.

I thought that it might be a half track or tracked tank destroyer, those were actually very effective.

"The Tank Destroyer Command eventually numbered over 100,000 men and 80 battalions each equipped with 36 self-propelled tank destroyers or towed guns. In part because of the effectiveness of US TD tactics, no German campaign against the US ever achieved its objectives, nor did any[citation needed] TD unit lose more vehicles than its German opponent."

That's splitting historical hairs. Other than the bulge and in North Africa we didn't really have any large tank battles with the Germans. On the Eastern front where tank battles of scale actually happened the German and Russian fixed gun tank destroyers were of questionable usage. Heinz Guderian certainly didn't like them and thought efforts should be focused on mass production of good enough tanks, up gunned Panzer 4's. Either way they were all way up gunned very fast, sub 40mm guns were obsolete after 1940. If I remember from my readings tank crews and anti tank gun crews started to have problems with shells penetrating as early as in Poland and the French campaign. That Dodge would have been all but useless against the lightest of armor in North Africa, a better mount than the 37mm would have a been a dual or quad .50.

Txjake 12-16-2014 10:47 PM

Agree the dodge was relatively useless.
