So Long Montvale, Hello Atlanta?

Mercedes-Benz considering moving U.S. HQ to Atlanta - Birmingham Business Journal
German luxury automaker Mercedes-Benz is considering relocating its U.S. headquarters to Atlanta from New Jersey, Atlanta Business Chronicle has learned.

MBUSA is responsible for the distribution, marketing and customer service for all Mercedes-Benz products in the United States. The company is likely to have considered Texas and Virginia for the relocation.

I believe Porsche and lotus are both there as well. Wonder what the draw is? Certainly not the roads.

Yuck. Atlanta is a hot, humid, trafficky mess that would be best redecorated with a 9.0 quake.

Actually, you have some interesting roads once you get 60-70 miles north of Atlanta.

It sure is. Right down the road. My company has an office there that I visit several times / year.

State officials pleading for Mercedes to stay

NJ sweetens the deals. The part about the 76ers was interesting, but not surprising since the NY Giants work and play in NJ.

I spend about two weeks per year at the training center in Montvale. First time I went was '87 if I remember correctly. That said, a change of scenery would be nice
