so who has punched their final hobbit movie ticket?

Inevitably i will be seeing this like the rest of humanity. Anyone seen it yet? Should i expect the same milking, but still watchable movie as the others?

Just tell me there wont be a video game donkey kong barrel sequence with ninja god elves and clueless dwarves, and ill start to get excited

Not yet but I've got an Interview ticket I'll swap for one.

Not yet. Planning on it. Probably after the new year. Too much going on now with the holidays.

Surprisingly good movie. Saw it last night. Sorry the series is complete.

I've not seen any of them. the Mrs. loves them though.

I have no choice to see the movie....
My wife is very fond of Tolkien.
I saw the final movie on Sunday.
This was the first one we have seen in 3-D format.
Must say it was entertaining, the movie passed quickly.
If you liked the others, this one will not disappoint.

If you thought the series could be summed up as "Walk a little, pick a fight, walk a little, pick a fight." then you may not be as impressed.

Personally, I enjoyed the way the creators of the movie interpreted the magnificence of Tolkien's word images in his books.

Of course, my favorite book of the series was The Harvard Lampoon's "Bored of the Rings".

Saw it last Sunday. Going to watch the LOTR series again to get a full grasp and then watch the Hobbit 1 and 2 then go back to the theater and watch this last series.

When I have to work all day, I don't want something that makes me work hard to puzzle out what is going on especially when I am not getting paid for it or have to pay money to work on it (Tom Sawyer)

It was ok...

Frankly, it sucked. It was nothing but one big battle.

JB3 12-30-2014 09:11 PM

Well, saw it and enjoyed it actually.

Last two days watched hobbit 1 and 2, saw 3 today, and jumped right into the rings trilogy, so taken as part of a 15 hour fantasy epic, it works. Didnt even mind the donkey kong scene in hobbit 2 as compared to ridiculous sideways tower scene in hobbit 3.

Few complaints about continuity and ninja god elf shenanigans, but not terrible overall.

For you maybe, but I bet the hobbit sees it differently :P

INSIDIOUS 12-30-2014 09:37 PM

And, for the record, I myself have never punched a hobbit :D

JordaanDMC-12 12-30-2014 11:43 PM

It's amazing to me that it took 3 movies almost what, 3 hours each? To make the same movie as the 70's animated version that was 45 minutes long... That's some Hollywood magic there
