Happy Festivus!

May your airing of grievances be relieving and your feats of strength be impressive!

We had in four of our five children, 9 of our 12 grandchildren, the kids god mother, and five dogs today for our Christmas celebration. I hauled in some stuff including a 1.75 liter of Jack Daniels!

Great (noisy) stuff!

We had a very good Christmas! Despite not being home, we made the best of it. Had my father and his ladyfriend, ladyfriend's son (whom I've been good friends with for 35 years), his wife and their two daughters and my FIL over for dinner with my crew of 6. My maternal aunt, uncle and cousin and our good friends up the street and their two daughters came over for dessert. Lots of reminiscing, catching up and otherwise fun conversations fueled by a sneaky punch the Mrs. whipped up and some good local brews. Despite all of the hard work leading up to it, the 18 lb. ham was a masterpiece if I do say so myself , having a houseful made for a great day.

We all missed my late mom (3 years ago yesterday), MIL, cousin, uncle and lady friend's husband/friend's dad but made the most of it to ensure our kids still get to enjoy a happy holiday.

My sister (who has been busy in NM with a new gallery, radio station and home purchase) wasn't able to make it here since the weeks before and after Christmas are busy at the gallery, but she will be coming sometime in January so we'll just have to do it again!

We played the white elephant game where our adults put in a present, we drew names and did the stealing thing etc. I ended up with some nice local brewed beers which pleased me.
