A friend texted me the other day, her friend's son's car is an SLR model with iPhone/aux in hookup. Curious what kind of conversation they had during the design of this kid's ride.

I saw one at Toys R Us with a built in stereo, auxillary port and a karaoke machine. I guess we're starting distracted driving young?

Target was selling mini electric G-wagons for $199 this Christmas. My 21 month old is getting close to needing one to get around.

The plastic wheels on the big wheel were the greatest play invention ever IMO. Get it up to speed, cut the wheel, and do a killer 180 or 360, until you have 4 plastic discs instead of 2 wheels.

I remember hitting a curb flipping a big wheel and tearing the arm off my new shirt at the time. The electric power wheel things were also fun once you busted out the electric stuff so it would roll as fast as it could. Center of gravity on those things are too high though. Lots easier to flip

They taught me the how-to and value of controlled e-brake use!

We had quite the grave yard of Big Wheels with spent drive and rear wheels to use as parts vehicles. Occasionally a good front half would be matched with a good rear half by a piece of 2x6 for some limo action but usually we were just swapping out wheels to keep doing what they were designed to do.

I still remember the disappointment of wearing out a rear wheel, especially with the first gen wheels that were the thinner plastic and more squared-off. And the thunk-thunk-thunk of the flat spot or two on virtually every drive wheel before the halves would separate.
