I thought that I was on here before then, as I had my 280 SE 4.5 in 2001. I was in Texas (thus Txjake) and that was 2003. Wasn't there a "reset" of the board in the early mid 2000s?

I was actually inspired by a W124 E500 someone owns on this forum that is a similar color called Almandine Red.

I think he goes by "ObamaBiden" nowadays.

Funny, since I stepped out of this forum, I've never found another to get excited about. This place was a hoot "back in the day"! Even the trouble makers were entertaining! (Spock!)
I got a co-worker hooked on older Mercs recently(he bought a 560SEC), and have found myself looking thru the Benz ads. Just haven't quite found the right one. Plus, here in Utah, they tend to be pretty rotten. To say they salt the roads here in winter is an understatement! So I may have to go out of state when I get the itch. Thinking I'd like to pick up a clean old 220D again. We'll see.
But good to see so many old timers around still!

Benzless at the moment, but that can (and does) change in a hurry.

I almost took the plunge on a salvage title 07 S600 but with some strong advice from those here, decided it would a money pit and passed on the deal. The car was an insurance total-loss but repaired. It was wrecked again by a friend who has the car...on the way to meet up to show the car. Bad karma, perhaps??

The next strong possibility is if I find either a 98-99 E300 or 05-06 pre-BT E320 CDI. I'm not super concerned about mileage nor do I want a garage queen. It's not a "must have" so if one comes along...fine...if not, that's ok too.

I browse through this forum a few times a week just to make me feel like I still belong. LOL. Take care all. Chat soon.
