cool, I remember reading about hydrogen cars back in the 70s, in Car & Driver.

300 mile range may not help if there are less than 10 stations in all of California.

Not many green flags on the map yet.

Got a couple stations in central CT and in the Boston area (don't know how accessible it is at Logan Airport, though).

Not sure I could justify the purchase as a backup generator for the house but the perks aren't too shabby for those in the market!

"in the market" for a fuel cell car? I guess those Prius owners might see it as an upgrade path.

According to the DOE map, there are only 13 stations in the whole country, mostly in CA. Shoot in AZ you can't even find CNG or Biodiesel.

Somehow the look of the car makes me think of a modernized Edsel.

They need to be working on just Hydrogen ... compressed...
instead of a fuel cell.....
But either way... since you can convert water to hydrogen and water with very low voltage DC voltage.... in the future having ' filling stations ' out there will be much less of a problem... you use wind and solar to make it all the time those work....and fill up at your house....
When hydrogen becomes pretty much free.... you will not have to be concerned with lightweight vehicles.... you can make cars large enough to carry strong compressed hydrogen tanks... which can be used in regular internal combustion engines... like propane can be now... just adjust the air to fuel ratio.....
At that point in time springs on vehicles will be used in the stretch mode... as compared to compressing.... to give really nice progressive cushioning... like some motorcycles have in the past.... BMW for one.... or ' springer' front ends on Harley's....

You can take it from the air if need be...
and you can use salt water if you need to..
so yes, water is not only cheap.... but the exhaust from the hydrogen internal combustion engine IS WATER..... so it goes right back into the atmosphere... unless you want to collect it and do the same thing over again....
I am assuming you are being sarcastic and live in an area suffering from drought...

When splitting the water also capture the O2 and tank it to recombine in a vehicle. That way everyone could be driving their own explosive device :D

Well, the rockets that put us into space are powered by hydrogen and oxygen... so properly controlled it has the power......
vehicles behind you will need new paint jobs at the very least...
