While their stuff isn't exactly my style (of mismatched hand-me-downs and distribution center closeouts ), I do like their meatballs with lingonberry jam and my DD is into that Scandinavian modern look and has an entire new, bigger room to fill.

While I generally rank Ikea products as "upscale dorm room" or guest bedroom chic . . . I do like the "hacks" that folks do. I'm considering the RAST table server rack hack for a future home network expansion project.

Dito. We are flipping a house and installed their cabinets. Very nice, good quality and far cheaper than custom quotes we were getting. All soft close doors and drawers. Quite nice. I would put them in my house with out a second thought.

I can't stand any pressboard furniture, especially since owning a dog (nail marks can't be removed). So about a year or two ago, got their Ivar, plus expandable. Now when I go back, quality is down some and no longer have the drawer or door units. But, found some knot free shelving parts and put it in the living room, as the office has already a whole wall of them. Makes a great room divider, replacing a wall that shouldn't have been removed. When I get the chance, will get another unit.

The RAST with a modification looks like just the ticket for a nightstand. I like my Danish bedroom set I have, but the cat finds great amusement in opening the empty dresser drawers in the very early morning hours... And other issues.

How are the drawers constructed? What material is the boxes?

They are all particle/pressboard but finished out well. We priced out custom cabinets same construction but unfinished were more expensive. I suspect the finishes are a bit on the delicate side but we have not had any issues during construction of the house. For the price they cant be beat in my opinion. Now if you want to spend more on solid wood faces and plywood carcasses then you will get better quality but the prices are pretty insane.

I have used them on a flip and a spec house. If I could find someone to install them cheaply I'd use them on my rentals as well.

For the price you cannot beat them.
