how much should I sell my car?

I want to sell my 1997 C230. I put in almost 10K in upgrades. I listed it for 22K. How much do you think I can get for my car?

Thanks in advance,
Tom

Go to
www.kbb.com.

This is the online Kelley Blue Book. You then select if your car is a trade-in, or private party seller, or a auto dealer price.

THis way you get an idea of the value someone will actually pay for your car.

Generally, mods don't add too much value to the car... If you have the old parts, I'd put them back to make the car more Stock, and then sell the upgrades separately. THey will, however, add some value, and even more value if the right person comes along.

Good luck!

fwiw- in the range of purchasing a used MB for $22k I'd much rather select a:

>'92-'93 500e
>'92-'95 400e/e420
>'94-'95 E320 Sedan, Wagon, Coupe, Cabriolet

...naturally these other used MB models offer much more machine for the $22k

I'd consider $12k-$13K a reasonable sales price on a 5 year old C230 w/ complete records & maintence @65k miles (+/-)...but sell that C230 quick, entry level models lose value the fastest w/ mods adding very very little to the vehicle value (if not detracting from the value)

hope this helps, the car looks nice

autotrader.com lists 291 1997 C230 cars. Some may be duplicates. Average price is $17690, high is $28900.
