Nah, stopped just fine.

I wasn't worried about not stopping due to lack of grip from the tires... I was more worried about my brake pads not working too well in the cold! (the joys of driving a car setup for the track on a daily basis)

Supposedly, back in the late '50s a Mercedes spokesman was asked why they didn't offer power windows like American luxury cars. The reply "If you can't roll down the widows, you shouldn't be driving!"

My brother used to drive a '94 Toyota 4-Runner with an automatic so wimpy, the tranny 'hot' light would come on after driving above 60 mph on a normal 90-ish summer day with just two people and luggage! An aux tranny cooler in the vented front belly-pan (no room in front of the radiator) cured that.
Later on the V6 blew it's head gasket. I guess I should've added an aux engine cooler too. NOT one of Toyota's better designs!
The rare survivors with the 4-cylinder and 5-speed manual now sell at a premium.

This thread turned pretty hilarious. All this transmission stuff got put on halt as my one year old german shepherd mix pup went and played in traffic and got hit by a car. He spent nearly two weeks in the hospital with a broken leg, fractured shoulder (small fracture) and some kind of rupture in his lungs. He's been recovering at home just waiting for some built up air around his lungs to dissipate and then he can have surgery on his leg. He sure is tough!! He is bound and determined to destroy my new car though. The night he got hit he was so afraid of the vet techs trying to get him out of the car he got diarrhea all over from back hatch all the way to the dashboard and everywhere in between. I had to take it to a pro and have the "hangover special" performed. Just last night he saw the vet techs again and peed all over the back. Glad I had the OEM rear seat cargo protector on. Pet insurance seems like a good deal now.
