I love the new miata, will probably be a serious consideration to replace the saturn a few years down the road. Living with half the horsepower might take some getting used to though.

I'll be checking it out tomorrow at the auto show . But if I wanted a convertible I'd get a classic because I don't care about reliability unless it's a DD and that wouldn't be this car . I'd stick with a SLK if I was going that route . I'll get a r107 at some point . I'm more partial to a Austin , Alpha etc . That's what aaa plus is for

Miata Fans, The 2016 MX-5

We get all the " green" stuff because it's Portland . But I expect to see some good stuff . I8 and I3 , there is a Veyron there . You enjoy too. Lots of fun . I'd like to see a 4c too .

For what it's worth, many of the MGs, Fiats, etc used drivetrains from the econoboxes of their day.

Yes. The early triumph TR-2 and 3 used an engine with tractor origins I believe. The gearbox was so inappropriate in a car that it had a creeper first that remained in the tranny but was blocked off so it could not be accessed when used in a TR.

Mazda was the first to do retro, but they didn't want to point out that's what they were doing.
