Doomed To Be a "Poseur?"

Mercedes C450 AMG 4matic Sport

2016 Mercedes-Benz C450 AMG 4MATIC Photos and Info – News – Car and Driver

Utilizing the same twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V-6 found in the C400, the C450 extracts extra power mainly by increasing the turbo boost pressure. But there are further welcome changes: The seven-speed torque-converter automatic shifts more quickly, and in manual mode there are no automatic shifts—not even at kickdown or redline. The exhaust system operates with less back pressure, which adds a noticeable exhaust rumble and enhances power.

I say "no" as Mercedes refrained from AMG badging on the car.
Boy, that euro-spec C450 wagon in the slideshow looks hawt!

I think its a good answer to the BMW 335iS and the Audi S4. I like it, but if I ever were to spend that kind of coin on a new car, I would personally just pony up for a C63.

I don't think it's for poseurs. For years you have been able to get sport packages with AMG wheels and body kit. Now they are giving you some additional performance to go with it. Nothing wrong with that.

Also isn't the 4.0L C63 going to remain 2wd? The 450 sport 4matic will probably be a more practical option for the majority of buyers.

Yes, the C63 will remain RWD. The C250 (same motor as in the GLK250) Turbo Diesel was just released in India and is expect in the US next year.
