I like it, but those wheels have to go. Manual transmission. I would have to see the quality of the transplant and get it for reasonable money which would be DRASTICALLY less than what they are asking.

Thailand is the place to go for really unusual transplants and builds. Given the exchange rates, labor costs and the availability of Japanese powerplants and drivetrains, it's pretty much the center of the universe for this type of tuning.

Quality will vary of course, but there are very good shops. Japanese regulations don't allow "fixer uppers" on their roads, so a lot of otherwise good parts ends up being shipped throughout SE Asia. My favorite is a 190E with a Supra Twin Turbo engine with a Nissan Z car rearend handling the power and torque.

I kinda like it! (self admitted fan of vintage Japanese cars) That L28 Nissan/Datsun is a terrific engine in its own right but I would rather have it in a Datsun Z or my 510 wagon It has its little brother the 1300. I love Watanabes or Panasports on a lot of different cars but don't know about them on an SL, its messing with my head! The old Datsun/Nissan steering wheel is a bit odd too. Overall it looks well done though and it is very different, I wouldn't be ashamed to own or drive it

Skippy~ As for perception: Drive what you like and can afford. Those who don't like it can supply vacuum to one of your components. LOL

If you need parts, I have some!

I booked a taxi in the Miraflores area of Lima to see and fly over the Nazca lines in the desert above Ica in the desert and were mysterious l hyeiro glyphs, undisturbed for maybe 1000 years. by rain, vandalism or anything else..their history is not known...

Ourt taxi was a lovely, mint looking maroon 1966 f85 Oldsmobile (NOT a Cutlass) edan wit h a blue blue button factory button factory-looking brocade cloth interior---. weird! I asked the driver about the car, and he said it had a Nissan diesel engine in it.

We saw the Nazca lines lines in a flight in a small airplane... a Cessna, it may have been....
