Padre fan advice.
 
Hi.

We are in San Diego Sun 14th Jun and fancy taking in a Baseball game. No experience of this whatsoever and have emailed the Padres PR who suggests the Visitors Side, the 'even numbers' in the 200'dreds. This will give us the Sun on our backs which might be preferable. Also, this is near 3rd base...whatever? Is that good?

Any Padre fanz on here who can offer further advice or assistance?

As you can see from the map, which is oriented correctly, the visitor's team is located on the western side of the stadium, so depending on the time of day the game (Sunday suggests a afternoon game) then your opportunity for shade is on the west side. The 200 seats are above the field on the first elevated level, so you should be in the shade most of the game.

Thanks for that. I did wonder if it would be more (or less) fun to sit with the home or away fans. Possibly the sunburn factor might be the over-riding decision.

Further question. Do 'Elderly' concession tickets apply to non-US citizens or will nobody notice if two old crones sneak in? (As long as we don't say anything in our Scottish brogue ;):D )

Compared to your stadiums, American baseball parks are much more genteel when it comes to partisan fans . . . unless you're in Philadelphia. :D

i dont know what you mean by that, i know at Busch Stadium no one would bat an eye at "old" people, how old are you? as MTI said its pretty mellow at US sporting events especially baseball,
NFL game at Oakland might be a little different if you wore the wrong team stuff

They might ask for proof of age if they think you don't look over 60 or whatever -- bring your passport. Generally, such things don't have a citizenship requirement. Remember, we're talking about a state that doesn't strictly check for legal residency before issuing driver's licenses.
