Anyone driven ALL the SL's?
I've decided that one day I'd like to own every SL ever made. Not all the variations, just one from each era starting from the original gullwing to the new SL.
Actually, to be more realistic, I'd consider it a lifetime achievement to one day say that I've driven them all. Has anyone here driven them all? Kuan |
Rode in a 107 once many years ago before I finally get my own R129. My friend's parents own (still?) this prestine white/blue 107 and they named it "Baby" for the license tag. They only took it out when the sun shines and put less than a thousand miles/year. Wish I have kept in touch with them so I can buy the car off when they are ready to sell. That's one babied car.

I've driven a 107 and 129, and soon I'll get to drive an r230.
They are all great, I happen to like the 129, but I feel the seats are a little too upright for my tastes. I have long legs, so its either cram the legs, or straighten the back. I prefer trying to get a middle ground on it. The 129 goes form 0-120 pretty quickly, of course its an sl600. i just had to give her an italian tuneup for my dad. even though he accelerates to 60-80 mph every time he takes off froma light then slows down to cruising speed. :) hehe Alon |
i think my dad has driven in all except for the the 2003SL. I know he's driven a 300SL roadster. not sure about the gullwing though. The 2003 SL should be easy enough to fix ;)

As a dealer tech, I've driven all except the 50's versions, including the R230. I've driven a 1990 300SL with the manual transmission. Driven a 107 chassis with the 103 inline 6 in it (graymarket), mid eighty's 500SL (graymarket), and a few Silver Arrows.
