Just checking in after along time away & saddened to read of Jim's illness & passing.
I met Jim at a GTG in 2007 at Mr MB in Reseda. Jim was very helpful to me when I first found my 83 Euro SEC. Together we created one of the longest threads in history.

Jim was a great guy & I will always think of him fondly! RIP & condolences to his family.

He had intelligent views and was not shy about expressing them.....and he did not suffer fools gladly.

It's funny how I think of the old guy every day. I think of Jim as an old experienced guy because he held court so to speak here. For being an old guy, he lived and thought in many ways like a guy in his 20s. A far too rare combination in an American, IMO.

It's a tribute centered around the wide matrix of Jim's interests, experiences, accomplishments, storytelling skills, adventures, assortment of cars, and his love of travel and communication skills. Boy, that guy loved life, and he lived it!

Been a year since Jim passed away....

He would have had a ball with the OD forum about the current political circus going on today!

Unhappy Phooey

I don't think I've ever been to this off topic forum and now only to hear Jim is gone and far too young .

He was a unique individual , we chatted about this and that .

R.I.P. Good Sir .

I'm so sorry to hear than Jim has died. I got to meet Jim the last time I was in SanFrancisco and have dinner with Jim and Carl Macfarlane, as well as to see how fast Jim's SEC would go on Geary St . . . . I think we might have fought air once or twice . . . RIP, Jim . . .

Last year my daughter's fiancé's father gave him his old 420SEL He and my daughter drove it to LA from here In NJ after last Christmas. I told him if he ever has trouble with it to take it to this place called MR MB Motors in Tarzana. I told him about the forum, how Jim used to drive his cars there from great distance and how the shop had a wonderful reputation.

He took it down there for some work and really liked the place. Been back with it a few times since. Turns out they're only about 20 miles from the place.
Thanks JimB.
