Been Gone... Lost my Dad
 

My Dad passed away last Friday the 19th. He had fallen down a flight of stairs and suffered massive head trauma. Although he never regained consiousness, I know he knew I made the trip from Texas to Ohio because he opened his eyes a little and squeezed my hand when I asked if he could hear me, he even had a little tear in his eye.

That meant a lot to me because I had to go to North Carolina for the furniture market (I'm a factory rep). I got the call Friday that he had passed away and went back to Ohio. We had a beautiful Memorial for him and nearly 200 people showed up and dozens more phoned or wrote to convey their respect.

He really had a servent's heart and piled up thousands of volunteer hours that helped hundreds of people, all without recieving a dime. He was most proud of teaching apprentice painters the "tricks of the trade" for the painter's union. Tonight, hundreds of families will sit down to dinner and have him to thank for the food on their table and the roof over their head.

They say when you get to heaven, you have to pay for your sins. With the credit he earned for all the good he did in his life, he must have had a lot of change coming. For more info about him, log onto www.ohio.com click on obituaries and type in Bill Ford.
