BMW i8 in real life

I saw BMW i8 in real life today and the grocery store. Absolutely stunning. I don't recall me ever taking a picture of a car in a parking lot until yesterday. Its on my list of most beautiful cars ever. The lines are perfect and the car looks like its not from this decade.

I like it too. Wonder what they look like with one color?

I have seen 2 of them so far, wouldn't pay £100k for one though.

Couple of them running around Columbus, really neat looking cars, I rather like the blue, but like M1tch, I'm not going to pony up $135,000 anytime soon for one.

I think they are really neat looking, seen a couple of them. IMO they look like something much more expensive than 100k

The hood opening mechanism must have been designed by a team of anal retentive engineers, previously employed by Mercedes.

I'm probably the only one who knows what you're talking about...

Although, I was surprised at the mix of old and new style cars in GitS and agree this would fit right in.

I like how it has the fresh "design concept" look. Most really cool concept cars are stripped of most of their coolness by the time they hit the streets as production cars.

Thanks for that vid. It sort of seemed like he was hiding the camera in some fashion, avoiding the faces (except the blonde), etc., so it's likely BMW isn't cool with that video being out there.

After hearing all the discussion about how light and unsupported the hood is, I can understand them not wanting people to be able to open it. Crack the paint (or the hood itself) or tweak one of those hinges or mash it into the bumper...they'd have more than a few unhappy customers. Kind of crazy it takes two knowledgeable people to open it, and then hold it, and then pin it (if they're going to) and then close it. Whoosh.
