Range of his influence? On an episode of "Live From Daryl's House" ZZ Top guitarist Billy Gibbons tell Daryl Hall of meeting B.B. King and when he tried "Lucille" he was amazed at the light gauge strings he was using. Gibbons thought that heavier strings were part of that deep "blusey" sound, to which B.B. said “Why are you working so hard?” Gibbons has used lighter strings since.
