Was an article from a PC mag or something like that and it said the EULA was 29 pages advising all kinds of info/data windows is collecting. Also said to go into 'privacy' and unclick just about everything.

Found this:

Windows 10 privacy problems: Here’s how bad they are, and how to plug them.

Make sure you got the right version for your machine (32/64bit) and that you save it to a location not just open/run from temporary space.

So far just 1 update? Heckuva lot better than the 3 or 4 times a week Windows 7 had.

"course, maybe Microsoft is just getting lazy.

As things go, if that is all they are doing, I have no issue. If the update changes settings and programs, that is a different issue. If it isn't compatible with one of the pieces of software I installed, I don't want it removing it without consulting me like the Win 10 upgrade removed my sound drivers and synaptics touchpad and I had to reinstall it. Kinda bothered me.

No such thing. There are always bugs. Besides the free upgrade ends in 11 months.

Windows 10 makes diagnostic data collection compulsory | Computerworld

Windows 10 includes a telemetry and diagnostics service that cannot be fully disabled. In earlier editions of the OS -- including Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 -- Microsoft's data gathering was optional. Users had to agree to join the "Customer Experience Improvement Program," or CEIP, for telemetry to be collected and sent to the Redmond, Wash. company from those operating systems. And if users changed their mind, they could stop it.

I find it hard to believe that anyone has got it installed...

...on Windows 7 I just get a window with a white screen and a swirly egg timer thing when I click on the upgrade to windows 10 button in the task bar...

...as usual a waste of my ****ing time.

I forced mine to install, didn't want to sign up and then wait. It went very smoothly. I've got machines on 10 so far. The rest are on 8, with one on 7 still.
