The Fallen of WWII
The Fallen of World War II - Data-driven documentary about war & peace
The 15-minute video (it’s well worth the time to watch), titled “,” is divided into three sections. The first is an analysis of soldier fatalities by nation, while the second tackles civilian deaths (including the Holocaust). The final section provides a fascinating and illuminating overarching perspective of WWII in the context of previous conflicts and those that followed. |

@ video 14:25 the post-war summary if you will, is interesting in discussing the "Long Peace" and how major economic powers have not fought each other. (At least not directly. )
Interesting coincidence: This month marks the 70th Anniversary of the end of the last battle of WWII. William Manchester wrote his thoughts of Okinawa 25 years ago. I wonder if he would still feel the same about war today? Good read. The Bloodiest Battle of All. THE BLOODIEST BATTLE OF ALL - NYTimes.com |
