Put some Solar panels on the thing and they might get a range increase

Solar panels suck at making lots of electricity.

Assume a Tesla battery is 65000 watt-hours (I didnt see numbers in the article), and assume that you can fit 4 square meters of Photovoltaic's at 200w/sq-m (which is optimistic IIRC).
While flying (in bright sunlight) for an hour, you will add 800w-h into your 65000w-h battery.

doing the math.. if 65000w = 1hr of flight time, then 800w = another 44 seconds of flight time due to adding solar panels.

Solar panels (and wind turbines) are getting better at making useable amounts of power, but for now, we need to throw large numbers at the problem to make these things useable.
