R-o-c-k-A-u-t-o nitpicking
Why does R-o-c-k-A-u-t-o display all years if you select <1995? That's 20 years listed I just said I'm not interested in seeing!

Do they not have web masters you can complain to?
|
They don't have Jooseppi to tell me it's all in my head :)

Returns are my big gripe with Rock Auto. It is best to double check the fit before ordering. |

I was past their 30 days and they allowed me to send it back because the part was wrong (misboxed apparently), but I had to pay return shipping, which wasn't cheap. To this day I wonder who they sent it to next. ;) |
For common cheapo parts they're great. My Heep, Ranger, etc. they get the job done.

yes sixo--that will teach you to drive some low end jap econobox that's clapped out gasping its last engine pulses at 12 yrs old like expected...... and the key should be worn out so much that --you of course cant even get the replacement:rolleyes:

Use the HTML version of the site. Just picked up lemforder om603 engine mounts for $51 a pop. bargain. their catalog has a lot of faults like not listing the mounts for the right engine/year once in a while some great bargains can be had.

My experience with Japanese cars is tumblers wear faster than keys. After about 150K miles you can pull out the key while driving. Turn the wheel enough and the wheel might lock  I appreciate that more than the typical MB that strands you because the key is worn. I'm sure thieves appreciate that too :) Sixto MB-less |
Rock Auto is a good place to go to look up part numbers by different makers of the same part. Use the part numbers and see if you can get the cheaper on eBay.
Within the last 4 Months I got all of the parts for a partial rebuild on 4.3L Chevy. Returns. The only issue I had with them is a bought up a bunch (12) of private lable Distributor Cap & Rotor Kits they were selling that were supposed to have Brass Terminals. 3 did not have the Brass Terminals but had Aluminum Terminals (which was not want I ordered). I emailed them and they ask me some questions got back to me an ask what they could do to fix it. They ended up giving me the Distributor Caps with the Aluminum Terminals for free; refunded the cost for them. That was my only warranty issue. But, when I look up parts I spend a lot of time looking at several sources of the same part to see if the applications match. When I can get it I use the Makers Part number to see if using the Makers Part number will bring up the same Aftermarket Part Number. In the case of rock auto they sold 2 different Connecting Rods for the 4.3L V6 that I had to spend a lot of time looking it up on various sites and viewing pics before I ordered. The main problem with rock auto is the shipping of individual items if you get only one. For me that minimum shipping is $9.95. When I ordered the the Parts to rebuild the engine I made sure I got the parts from the same maker and that reduces the over all shipping charge when items are shipped from the same warehouse. |
