WTF,, why not a 617 merc engine , instead of some POS Subaru motor

diesel electric perhaps, if its got a cummins,
or just b conventional with the cummins

A diesel electric hybrid is pretty fascinating for a military runabout. What interests me is the no driveshafts and using electric motors to drive the wheels in order to shape the underside of this vehicle to withstand IEDs better than a more conventional design. Interesting that a hybrid design actually improves the armor requirement
