I thought you were talking about smart features that were on cars from the past.
I was driving a 1950's Hudson, or at least that's what I think it was since this was about 50 years ago, and it had what was called a 'hill-holder' that allowed you to stop on a hill and then, when you started up again, you would not roll backwards. Pretty advanced stuff for back then. |

Yes, messed up this morning, The "from" should have been "for."
Some of the old features I miss in modern cars are wing vent windows, fold down windscreens, bench front seats, front door sills you can actually put your elbow out on. |

My 170D has a locking steering column and an electric windshield washer.

My euro w123 wagon lets you put the windows up or down without a key in the ignition if the driver door is open. Initially I thought it was for safety reasons. I've used it a ton as I always forget to check if the rear windows are down so I've begun to wonder if that's what it's for.

It also had a cruise control system which used a round dial marked with speed increments to set and modify road speed (see upper left illustration): |

Vent windows, OTOH were pretty nice. They should bring those back.

A wonder how many parents would want that on their teen driver cars.
I was part of a test project that used an ODBII device to monitor driving. Honestly, the feedback did make me a safer operator of a vehicle. Smoother stop and acceleration, consistent cornering habits. It does work. |

My moms Plymouth belvedere had a push button transmission....
I always liked good ole vent /wing windows. Hey anyone remember when the (ignition) spark advance had a hand operated control lever on the steering wheel hub........ idle is that old -he say's. |

My dad owned a 1950's MG sedan with built in electric jacks operated by switches in the glow compartment.
Ooops, looks like they were hydraulic, not electric. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MG_VA
