The New Chuck Taylors are Here! The New Chuck Taylors

Converse finally made a Chuck Taylor that won't destroy my old man feet | The Verge

Yes, there's a lo-rise version too.

Converse apparently has old people like me in mind, because the company just released the Chuck Taylor All Star II, one of the more radical revisions the iconic shoe has had so far. Sure, Converse has released a ridiculous number of variants on the original shoe, but they've mostly been cosmetic variations.

The II, however, appears to be a ground-up rebuild — like the Galaxy S6 of sneakers. The company is touting better foot cushioning and arch support, a more "breathable" micro suede liner, and a bunch of other features, like an embroidered All Star logo, that make the shoes even more expensive than the standard model ($70 for low-top, $75 for hi-top).

I wore Jack Purcells from childhood - the Chucks were too narrow- to about 20 years ago, whereupon it was discovered they had ruint my feet. Or maybe it was the pointy cowboy boots with 2 inch heels. Anyway, I quit them when they moved to China. Last American made sport shoe. So sad.

Cool. Great shoes for deadlifting and squatting. Mine always fall apart after winter salt, the canvas falls apart after multiple salt exposures.

If you're going to rock Chuck Taylors, you have to go with the hi-tops. As mentioned above, Converse doesn't like guys with wide feet.
