Darwin candidate locally

I read in the morning paper that a man 43 years old (old enough to know better) was riding a motorcycle on the interstate without a helmet and texting at the same time.

Impossible you may say, but apparently there were witnesses. He did it successfully apparently for a short while before he ran off the road into the median and was fatally injured.

The police are still investigating.

As a motorcyclist myself, I tend to feel for other motorcyclists who are injured or killed. However, I find myself unable to find any sympathy for this one.

I was driving on the Ohio Turnpike one time and I saw someone reading a book and driving. Not directions or anything like that but an actual couple hundred page book.

It's a long, boring drive-what do you expect them to do?

What's a "morning paper"?:D

Kidding aside, I get a good laugh from the Darwin Awards.

If you're finding a drive boring, you're probably not going fast enough.

Is that the one on I65? Motorcyclist dies after I-65 crash

Only ways I see is one handed texting since you don't need to clutch and setting the bike on cruise control (screw knob in throttle) and use both hands. That's all I got. Anyone else know how? No, not enough muscles in his weiner to text the right button.

t walgamuth 07-31-2015 07:21 PM

That's it.

Which way? One or two hands? I don't think anyone has weiner control that is good enough

t walgamuth 07-31-2015 08:59 PM

You asked if the article was about the incident I posted. I said it was.

I was hoping you'd know how it was done

After giving it some thought I suspect he may well have taken both hands off the handlebars to operate his phone. That could be trouble, right there.;)

No trouble. Killed himself only so life is good, at least for everyone else except him
