Carefully Planned Suicide
Wow!
Fox Lake officer's death: Suicide 'carefully staged' - CNN.com Gliniewicz was under increasing levels of stress from scrutiny into what the investigators found to be criminal activity, Filenko said. The officer had been stealing and laundering money from the police department program that mentored young people hoping to become law enforcement officers, Filenko said. Gliniewic was a leader in that program, and had been stealing money for at least seven years, he said. The investigation found that the officer -- who had experience creating mock crime scenes -- staged his suicide to make it look like a homicide. |

I've read some comments claiming that some fellow officers thought it was a suicide very early on but it never was made public.

NYT confirms today that a former cop was arrested within days of the shooting for threatening officials and insisting the death be ruled a suicide. I'd like to know what he or she has to say.

But wait! There's more.
Fox Lake Lt. Joseph Gliniewicz Tried to 'Put a Hit' on Administrator: Police - NBC News Covelli says investigators recovered deleted text messages in which Gliniewicz, 52, mentioned the possibility of planting something on the administrator, Anne Marrin, although he says they don't know if that's why he had the cocaine. Covelli says Gliniewicz sent the text about arranging the hit to a woman last April, asking for help getting a meeting with a high-ranking gang member. He declined to give her name. |

Should they also kept it a secret that he ALLEGEDLY pilfered a youth club of funds, conspired to murder the one investigating it, had his son wed his mistress so they could get extra handouts as she had a few kids, and the series of marks on his record as a PO? They are also looking into whether his family was involved in his activities.
