The 1971 Mercedes-Benz 280SE 3.5 convertible starting at 220,000.00 €. When my old Mercedes mechanic told me the 3.5 convertible in his shop owned by a client was worth $130.000, I told him he was insane...

I wonder how the Porsche 959 would hold up to a modern 911, would think still pretty good.

Nah a modern one would run away from it.

Nice auction! I love how they have some modern affordable cars in it as well.

Not really, 0 to 62 in 3.7sec will still beat many modern 911's. Not bad for a 30 year old car.

Yep and a modern equivalent is under 3 which is probably the least impressive bit.

Modern cars munch old timers on race tracks, they can't keep up with all the advancements of the past few years. The gap between a 959 and a 2016 911 is as large as the 959 from a 356.
