Mussel shoals music

I just watched a special on PUblic telly about mussel shoals, all the artists who recorded there and the guys who made it all happen. Very very interesting!

I watched that a while back, and also really enjoyed it. Those folks (and the artists they backed) were amazing musicians.

"Now Muscle Shoals has got the Swampers
And they've been known to pick a song or two
Lord they get me off so much
They pick me up when I'm feeling blue
Now how about you?"

"Etymology[edit]
There are a few explanations on how the city got its name. Some say the city gets its name from a former natural feature of the Tennessee River, namely a shallow zone where mussels were gathered.[7] When the area was first settled, the distinct spelling "mussel" to refer to a shellfish had not yet been fully adopted.[8] Others say that the name comes from the bend of the Tennessee River around the area which shape looks like someone flexing an arm muscle."

Saw that a few months ago. Hadn't heard of the place before that.
