Avoid the gym in January

And February as well

..that is, if you are serious and have been consistent over the years.

Wowzer. When I run on a treadmill, my hamstrings hurt. It's just a matter of getting used to I guess.

Virtually every treadmill will be in use during the peak hours at my gym for the next month or so.

By mid March, those people quit their New Year's resolution and it starts getting warmer outside, so the gym virtually empties out.

Oddly enough - my right knee isn't happy when I street run. It gives me grief after about 4 miles - but is fine when I'm on the treadmill!

I'll just avoid the crowds by hitting the treadmills about 15 mins earlier than usual. (11am instead of 11.15am). Should still be able to get on a treadmill without too much drama.

Yep its brutal this time of year until the spring weather hits.

January and Feb are the worst, all the new years people. They are poky and always in the way as well.

I'm looking forward to seeing some guy blow out his knee or back while doing squats with improper form!

Should be good entertainment.

Surprisingly my gym was empty at 6.30AM.

Went in to get my weights out of the way, and had no problems with getting the weights I needed, or machines/benches needed. Saw a few new faces, but it wasn't a zoo.

Probably too early. Go at 5pm or Saturday mid morning.

I avoided the gym over the weekend. As the weeks go on, it'll get better.

Late last year I switched from the gym to DDP Yoga. The "Mrs" and I can work out together first thing in the morning before work. At 38, my weight lifting days are behind me, and bumping into newbs at the gym at 5:30 AM isn't my idea of fun.
