Quite a few in my area have dumped cable and gone with DirecTV or Dish. Unfortunately those 2 services offer satellite internet via 3rd party. Most all dumped these 2 providers and went back to cable because of the slow and frequently inaccessible satellite internet.

So, I fired them and went to Xfinity. Sure, I pay more, but I'm disabled and spend most of my days in front of the talking picture box, watching all sorts of things. For 150mps speed, checked regularly to make sure there's no throttling, and the Xfinity system in the house, plus phone, I'm paying in the area of $185 per month. I was going to dump it after the first of the year, but my wife decided that after two days without it, I was driving her nuts...so she made the decision that I need it. Hey...as long as she's fine with the expense and it doesn't hurt the monthly budget, I'm fine.
That's the problem, I have two choices for internet. Frontier or Optimum, Frontier would probably be about $30 a month, Optimum is $70.

But the problem with Frontier is they slow the internet right down, watching a movie on say Netflix can be a struggle, you might have to pause to let it buffer. Its like in the old dial up days.

Optimum for all their issues is fast, they promise speed and deliver.

Thank you!! I was doing a little snooping around Amazon, and they have remote keyboards you can buy for the Roku. I'm glad for the recommendation. I might get a Roku for the living room and put the Chromecast in the bedroom.
