Which number is bigger? (Ferrari content)

Beautiful car, worth looking at the pictures alone and of the other cars running at that sale. But the way the article is written made me laugh.

Retromobile 2016: 1950s Ferrari could beat world record - CNN.com

Quote:
A 1950s racing Ferrari, expected to sell for $34 million (€32 million), is poised to smash the record for the most expensive car ever sold at auction, in Paris next month.

Quote:
The current record for most expensive car sold at auction is held by the 1962 Ferrari 250 GTO Berlinetta, which sold for $38 million in 2014, in California.

Kind of like my last paycheck. H.R. explained to me how the new insurance company was "saving" me money even though the carrier they selected had a 20% higher premium.

If you look at the exchange rate from August 2014 when the $38,115,000 car sold, it was .75 euros to a dollar. now its .92. So I guess the car in August was "cheaper" but I'm not giving CNN credit for thinking that far into it. Also, these big car sales prices are more about absolute value than correcting for currency variations or inflation. I'm sure adjusted for inflation previous records are much closer to $38M than they initially appear.

Either way, some amazing cars, now to figure out how to get a vintage V12 Ferrari into my stable...
