So maybe eight hours at what - $200 per hour or say $1600? Would you spend that much on a 250 year old clock? Could I just buy one for that?
Thanks for the quick response. |

The price is what the market can bear, and the counterbalancing factor is that demand is limited. You might get it done for a fraction of that. My fetish is that I can't tolerate a broken clock, so I would certainly research the options. Eventually every problem finds a solution. |
Yes; apparently we are of like mind.
Thx. |
Check timesavers. You may find a modern gear that can be adapted.

Roger.
Thx |
You're lucky it wasn't striking thirteen...

Still running.

Just out of curiosity. Could you fashion a part out of a suitable wood?

Way above my pay grade.

Your Gary cooper and it is high noon? Kind of a classic western in the day. Actually a More modern pendulum clock fell off the wall not long ago in the house. I could not get it going again. One hand was off as a result and the repair should have been easy. Except it was not. It had been there for decades . So I have no ideal of why it really fell. I suspect the gear inside that drove the clock hand shaft was damaged. Or something was bent. It was erratic after putting the hand back on. |
Wow, these pictures are awesome. Thanks for sharing. Sorry, but I'm of no help with fixing your clock though. Just admiring your pictures.
